The Midwest Agriculture Energy Network was launched in February 2005 by a Steering Committee of leaders from agriculture and commodity organizations from six states, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois. The Steering Committee includes a cross section of people from each state and from the major commodity and farm groups in the region.
The Steering Committee was chosen based on recommendations from interviews with nearly 50 ag leaders and farm organizations.
The Steering Committee has guided the formation of the Network, continues to provide guidance on the work plan and serves as a reservoir of expertise on numerous ag energy issues.
